What I Wore: Biker Jacket & Combat Boots in South Korea

Who loves a good biker jacket??

I am absolutely obsessed with them! It is important to find a biker jacket that fits you like a glove. Unfortunately, living in a country where it is summer all year round, I don’t get the opportunity to wear my biker jacket as often as I’d love to.

A good biker jacket is definitely a key wardrobe essential. It goes with just about anything. It also instantly elevates a simple, basic outfit. Here are 4 tips on what I look out for when purchasing a biker jacket that will last for years to come:

  1. To give an illusion of longer legs, I look for jackets that are slightly cropped above my hips.
  2. It is all about the details! I love biker jackets with lots of zippers because it gives off an edgier vibe.
  3. Look for asymmetry. Jackets that are slightly asymmetrical adds character to an outfit. Just make sure that the jacket fits (unless you’re going for the oversized look).
  4. This tip is optional – Jackets at a slightly higher price point usually are of better quality. Whether you are going for leather or faux leather, it is entirely up to you. Through personal experience, spending a little bit more on a quality jacket would be so much more worth the buy. My Maje biker jacket has been with me for almost 4 years!

Hi Mel, I am in love with your confidence and style. I am thinking of getting the Maje jacket in their “Basalt” design itself but am not sure about size as i will be ordering from their online website. What size are you wearing, and what size would you recommend for a UK8 petite (5″2′ frame)? Thanks very much and great work with your posts as usual! 🙂
